Fred and Barney Fishing -Framed Fine Art Giclee
$150.00
Fred and Barney Fishing is a Fine Art Giclee Limited Edition of 500 pieces. Comes matted and framed with Certificate of Authenticity. Size 16×20.
The show is set in the town of Bedrock in the Stone Age era. The show is an allegory to American society of the mid-20th century; in the Flintstones’ fantasy version of the past, dinosaurs, saber-toothed tigers, woolly mammoths, and other long extinct animals co-exist with barefoot cavemen, who use technology very similar to that of the mid-20th century, although made entirely from pre-industrial materials and largely powered through the use of various animals.
Ann-Margret as “Ann Margrock” was one of many famous names who lent their likenesses and voices to the series. She later appeared in The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas. The Stone Age setting allowed for gags and puns involving rocks; the names of the various characters being “rock” puns. These included celebrities of the 1960s such as:
“Gary Granite” (Cary Grant)
“Stony Curtis” (Tony Curtis)
“Ed Sulleyrock/Sulleystone” (Ed Sullivan)
“Rock Quarry” (Rock Hudson)
“Ann-Margrock” (Ann-Margret)
“Alvin Brickrock” (Alfred Hitchcock)
“Perry Masonary/Masonite” (Perry Mason)
“Giclée,” as a fine art term, has come to be associated with prints using fade-resistant “archival” inks (including solvent inks) and the inkjet printers that use them. These printers use the CMYK color process but may have multiple cartridges for variations of each color based on the CcMmYK color
